During the past few months, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest PA has been utilizing their PASS funding to partner with John Schultz & Sons to procure Pennsylvania apples. The two organizations have a long relationship, but they have worked more closely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Roger Schultz stated, “We have been able to supply a nice mix of Pennsylvania apple varieties to the food bank. This worked for both sides. Supporting local helps provide nutritious fruit and helps the food bank save on freight costs, while their partnership helps support our 22 employees at John Schultz & Sons.”
