Raising the Bar in the Movement Against Hunger
Pennsylvania boasts over 800 breweries and wineries combined across the state, and that number is growing. But just as these numbers are increasing, so are the number of food insecure families and individuals across Pennsylvania. In fact, over 1.5 million Pennsylvanians, including over 436,000 children, are experiencing food insecurity. That’s why Feeding Pennsylvania, PA Eats, and Breweries in PA are joining forces with local breweries and wineries across the state through Hops and Vines for Hunger— a month-long, statewide fundraiser throughout the month of November. Since its inauguration in 2021, Hops and Vines for Hunger has raised almost $65,000 that has supported our neighbors in Pennsylvania experiencing food insecurity.
Campaign Goals:
- Raise funds to maximize the work of Feeding Pennsylvania’s nine member food banks serving all sixty-seven counties in the commonwealth and serve Pennsylvanians experiencing food insecurity
- Support the development of nutrition education resources created by PA Eats to educate Pennsylvanians experiencing food insecurity on how to prepare simple, accessible meals with affordable, healthy ingredients commonly found in food pantries and agencies
- Promote the support of local breweries and wineries across the commonwealth
