Should I host a food drive?

Feeding Pennsylvania is discouraging traditional food drives in order to better allocate employee and volunteer time to mission-critical activities like packing food boxes, sorting bulk produce, and conducting enhanced cleaning procedures.

Rather than bringing people together in person or encouraging them to go out shopping for a traditional food drive, we are asking for groups and individuals to make monetary donations to their regional food bank.  Donations enable our food banks to obtain and distribute most needed healthy and nutritious food such as fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products as well as complete Crisis Relief Boxes that are being distributed to help the many people across the Commonwealth that have been severely impacted by missed work, increased childcare expenses, and uncovered medical bills.
