Tell Congress: Don’t Cut SNAP & Medicaid!

Congress is voting on a harmful bill that would reduce federal funding for essential food and health care programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medicaid. If enacted, these proposed cuts would take vital support away from millions of our neighbors including children, seniors and veterans.

At a time when the cost of living is rising and food insecurity remains high, cutting these programs would make it even harder for people to access the food and health care we all need to thrive.

Shifting the cost to states is not a tenable solution. In PA, this proposal would require $1.1 billion in new state spending by 2028—equivalent to 396 meals.  

Urge Congress not to take away food assistance and health care.

Tell them: Strengthen the programs that help keep families fed and healthy—don’t reduce their funding.

SNAP-Ed is an evidenced-based program that improves health outcomes for low-income families. Rigorous, peer-reviewed studies show that for every $1 invested in SNAP-Ed, up to $10.64 can be saved in future healthcare costs. This keeps rural families healthier and reduces Medicaid burdens on states.
