Blog Local Farmers Feeding Our Communities Act Advances in Congress March 6, 2026 Feeding Pennsylvania commends Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson and committee member Congressman Rob Bresnahan for advancing Farm Bill legislation that includes the Local Farmers Feeding Our Communities Act (LFFC), an innovative, agriculture-first program that creates new markets for farmers by connecting them with local food banks. Their support of LFFC reflects a strong commitment to strengthening Pennsylvania’s agricultural economy while ensuring families across the Commonwealth have access to fresh, local food. If enacted, LFFC would deepen the connection between local farmers and Pennsylvania’s charitable food network, creating new markets for farmers and providing our neighbors facing hunger with 100% Pennsylvanian-grown food options when they visit their local food pantry. Healthy foods are often the most expensive to purchase, and this legislation will help ensure that all Pennsylvanians have access to nutritious foods that help them get back on their feet. As lead sponsor, Congressman Bresnahan has been a strong partner in finding commonsense solutions that benefit all Pennsylvanians. We are also grateful to Chairman Glenn Thompson for his continued support and for including this important legislation in the Farm Bill.
