SNAP Impact Stories Share Your SNAP Story The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the largest anti-hunger program in Pennsylvania, providing 9 meals for every 1 meal that our charitable food network provides. As of October 16, 2025, SNAP benefits cannot be paid to Pennsylvania residents until the federal government shutdown ends. This puts 366 million dollars in monthly benefits for two million Pennsylvanians in jeopardy. Congress needs to hear the voices and stories of SNAP recipients to understand the real-world impact that this payment halt has.
